Have you ever wondered what it’s like to walk on the streets of Paris? Or eat their famous baguette and macaroons? Or better yet dress like a Parisian? Well c’mon and let’s get back to how Paris looks like while it’s still fresh on my memory.

Hi everyone! I am going to briefly give you insights on what does Paris looks like. For those who have been to this lovely city, this is also for you; to reminisce and savor the Parisian life that you have tried; but most importantly, this is for the readers who haven’t been, so this is me – sharing this side of the world to you.

The City

Cobblestones – and a lot of them – this is what I read before flying to this lovely city. It merely signaled me not to wear any high-heeled boots for the safety of my beloved soles. In fact I brought with me a pair of sneakers, but then again, I am in Paris, might as well dress like a Parisian; not only to look like one but to scram the bad guys away thinking that we aint tourists.

The Eiffel Tower

I was shouting when I saw her tip while riding the metro, “There she is”! I still cannot believe that I was certainly in France, specifically in Paris. It is the number one destination of tourists when they visit Paris, it’s like Eiffel or never, or now or never, or do or die.

IMG_8901.JPGThe Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

The Food

This is not enough here. I think I need to write another blog regarding the top things to eat in Paris. Well, maybe not yet. I still have a lot in mind. Just to give you a bird’s-eye view, they love baguette, croissants, crepes and macaroons here. You can see it everywhere. People in the train are eating baguette even at night. Yes, it might be their dinner perhaps. But who cares? It’s baguette!

The Fashion

When we talk about fashion, Paris is on top of the line. Always, it has been the cream of the crop. It is where designer apparel are manufactured and made famous. That is the reason why people come here to shop. And aside from the discounts they give, they have it here hot off the press!

The Culture

Aside from bakeries and patisseries, they love cafes! One disturbing thought I have encountered was, “why do they face the street while sitting on the cafe shops”? The answer? They people watch. Yes that’s the term and they enjoy it. Maybe I’d enjoy it if I am watching a Sinulog streetdance or a Buglasan parade, but people watch? Nah, not my cup of tea.

The Popularity

Paris is famous for (Chanel, Dior, Givenchy) and cars (Renault, Citroen, Peugeot). France is also famous for the Tour de France and the Eiffel. Symbols such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, Montmartre, and the Georges Pompidou Center make Paris one of the most visited places in the world.

The People

One word. Romantic. They show affection everywhere here. On the street, in the train, in the mall, everywhere. One time I was in the metro watching these lovebirds sharing ardently tight hugs which made me realize how lonely I was that time! Turned out I was hugging the metal pole of the metro looking at them looking at me. Hilarious!

Also, French people never speak English. So it is best to learn the basics of French before going to their land. Un, deux, trois, is one, two, three – and learning them helps a lot especially when you buy something and ask the saleslady, Com Bien? But you do not understand their answer.
